"i think i'll go to boston..."

|

Ever since my hip sister-in-law told me that our upcoming trip made her think of "that song about Boston", I haven't been able to get it out of my head. That is, after I found it on youtube and remembered how it went. :) It's a good one.

Sooo... we're going to Boston! Actually, Curtis has been there since Wednesday for his internship so I am joining him in the morning. Thankfully, my gracious in-laws are keeping Little Man so that we can have a 5th Anniversary/when-else-are-we-ever-going-to-go-to-Boston? getaway. I can't wait!

We're staying here: (The Hyatt Regency Cambridge)

We're trying (but probably unsuccessfully) to get tickets to go here tomorrow night (Red Sox vs. Braves):

On Saturday, we're going to follow the Freedom Trail to all the big historical sites, which is maybe what I'm looking forward to the most. Apparently, there is an actual brick line to follow: (please don't be alarmed if you hear stories of me skipping along it and singing lyrics to the Wizard of Oz.)

And maybe some shopping here? Hee hee...

We'll see!! Any Boston tips?

half birthdays

|
Can you celebrate half birthdays? I hope so, because Cooper is a mid-December baby (who does that to their child?!) and I just hate the thought of his birthday being overshadowed every year. As of now, my plan is to have a party for him on June 16th every year. Curtis says I can't start until he's at least 4 or 5. So, 2012...want to come?

In honor of that future tradition, here are a few pics of the "birthday" boy who is now (as of yesterday) officially 18 months old. Hopefully they will give you a glimpse into his personality. He is so full of life and, even though I sometimes wish with every fiber of my being that he would slow down, he is certainly an encouragement to me... to enjoy life more, to let go of the to-do list, and to live freely. Happy Birthday(ish), Cooper!

Did I mention the energy??

it begins...

|
It's too bad that I'm such a perfectionist. If I wasn't, it wouldn't stress me out so much trying to figure out how one is supposed to begin a blog.
Do you just start with today?
Do you go back and recount your entire story?
Do you introduce yourself?
Or do you write as if talking to an old friend?
I still have no idea, but here I am. Here we are.

Curtis and I are learning daily how to know and love each other more. We are watching our precious baby turn into a little boy. We are remodeling our 70 year old home. We are trying to enjoy life in a "hold pattern" as we seek our next step. We are growing, moving, understanding, living... becoming.

For us, this blog is about discovering and embracing who we are. It's about finding joy and truth in the present. It's about pursuing that which gives us life. And, hopefully, it's about laughter along the way. The blog is about becoming.
