2nd annual

|
You know those friends who you just know will be around for the long haul? The Kehnes are some of those friends.
  • Seth has been Curtis' friend since middle school... almost twenty years;
  • Seth and Curtis each proposed on the same day (seven years ago) to their future wives, both of whom are named Katie, and were groomsmen in each other's weddings;
  • Seth and Katie were our first and probably closest friends during our years in Knoxville, which included the four of us spending almost every Thursday night watching The Office together;
  • Overall, we have been blessed to walk through a lot of real life with them, rejoicing and weeping together, both recently and in years past.

So, obviously, we were super excited when they decided to make their 2nd annual February trek to NC (from Knoxville), the first trip being last year right before Annabelle was born!

Since their visit ended literally a day before Annabelle's birth day, it didn't make it onto the blog. Here are a few photos from that first visit:
Emery was just a baby and Cooper was... chubbier.
 Emery spent that weekend being a little overwhelmed (petrified?) of us all. Especially Cooper.

What's so special about the first weekend in February? The Krispy Kreme Challenge, of course! 2 miles, a dozen donuts, and then 2 more miles. The guys, along with good friend Evan Travis, have done it two years in a row and are surely a few days shorter in life expectancy because of it.

If you're curious and have a spare 10 minutes, you can experience the run with them by watching a few home videos...

This year:

That's about as much experiencing as I want to do!

But, we'll take any excuse to hang out with this adorable little girl, who is so much bigger and less of a baby now!

I love thinking about how our daughters will grow up together (only about 1/2 year difference).

Hopefully they will all be the best of friends, just like their parents!
